Olympic Peninsula Trekking & Running Adventure 2016

Olympic National Park, Washington State

  1. Hike Temperate Rainforest, Mountains, and Coast on one trip;
  2. Plunge into Lake Crescent after a long run;
  3. See Elk;
  4. Run a local race (optional: 5k, 10k, Half, or North Olympic Discovery Marathon).

  • Explore the natural beauty of Olympic National Park: Mountains, Rainforest, and Coast
  • Meet local runners at the North Olympic Discovery Marathon and other races
  • Take the ferry across the Strait of Juan de Fuca and;
  • Enjoy Victoria, BC, on a day trip

Weather in Olympic is variable and unpredictable, no matter the time of year. It is common for different weather conditions to exist within the park at the same time. Even in the summer, temperatures may vary from 10-20 degrees, especially along the coast and higher elevations.

In June, at the time of our trip, the typical temperatures are in high 60s and low 70s. Light rain is common, although less frequent than in the early spring. We recommend bringing rain gear: for hiking, and for running. That's why everything looks so green at this time of year.
